Non-Transportable and Prohibited Items Policy
At Craigs Moving Services VA, safety, compliance, and care are at the heart of everything we do. To protect our clients, movers, and property during every relocation, certain items cannot be transported in our moving trucks. This Non-Transportable and Prohibited Items Policy helps ensure a safe and smooth moving experience for everyone involved.

Why Some Items Cannot Be Moved
Moving trucks must meet safety standards, and certain materials or goods can pose risks such as fire, contamination, leakage, or damage to other belongings. Additionally, laws and transportation regulations restrict the handling and transport of specific substances and valuables.

Items Typically Not Accepted for Transport
For your safety and the safety of our team, please do not include the following types of items in your moving shipment:
-
Hazardous materials: gasoline, propane, paint, chemicals, or cleaning agents
-
Flammable or explosive items: fireworks, lighter fluid, or aerosol cans
-
Perishable food and open containers
-
Live plants (especially on long-distance or interstate moves)
-
Firearms, ammunition, and weapons
-
Valuables such as jewelry, cash, passports, or confidential documents
-
Pets or living creatures of any kind
If you are unsure whether a particular item is allowed, our team will be glad to offer guidance before moving day.
How to Prepare Prohibited Items
We recommend that clients transport sensitive, personal, or prohibited items themselves. This ensures that everything important stays under your control and arrives safely at your new home.
Safety First
Our goal is to make your move smooth, worry-free, and fully compliant with transportation laws and insurance regulations. By following this policy, you help ensure a secure environment for both your belongings and our moving staff.
